Re: [kneesurgeryforum] Helloooooo!?

I injured knee 6 months ago and have good use of it (work out. etc) with exception of squatting all way down ....  it starts to hurt at that stage ....  can anyone tell me what is best exercise for this issue.

hi jason,

this is a very quiet forum ( guess that's a good thing).  are you in therapy?  if you can't do leg raises i imagine your quads are very weak from immobility?  did they (if you're in therapy) do heel slides (with or without a big ball?)  i imagine your therapist will tell you what is best to re-build the muscles.

i completely tore my acl in my left knee on febb 22 while shoveling my driveway.  guess i should tell everyone i did it skiing- sounds more fun.  didn't have surgery as orthopedist says i was too old ( i'm 50 not dead!) but i imagine he meant because i'm not athletic.  did pt for about 6 weeks (2x week) until insurance company deemed me healed- hate hmo's.  i continue doing all my exercises at home and will have to do so for the rest of my life if i want to maintain some stability.

Not in therapy yet.  But I had an acl injury last year that immobilized my quad in the same way.  I did pt to build it back up, which worked.  But now here...
