Re: [kneesurgeryforum] donor graft surgery on thursday

They used the midsection of my petellar tendon to reattach my acl almost 5 weeks ago.  The incision is about 2-3 inches long, and it feels like duct tape over it since there is scar tissue.  the most painful for me was standing up and the pull and gravity on the stitches.  My leg is still numb in some areas.  My PT has advised me to rub on the incisons now to get rid of the bumpy scar tissue.  That was painful when I started it last week -  but it gets better.  Best of luck to you and wishes for a speedy recovery.

i am having donor graft surgery on thursday and wondering if i am
making the right choice on this graft? i had the hammy graft on my
other knee a number of years ago. that is solid but i remember it being
extremely painful. i am a high level skier and looking to get back to
high level form next season. any experience info or opinions would be
much appreciated. Thanks!
