acl surgery

I just had my ACL reconstructed 2-14 (indoor soccer injury).  They used part of my petaller tendon to reattach since IMHO I would be a candidate for a reaction using a cadaver tendon.  My anesthesiologist used a femoral nerve block, which I assume is customary, however 6 days post-op my knee is still pretty numbed out (and swollen).  No pain meds since Sunday 2 a.m., but the incision and where the needle entered to do the nerve block still sting.
Any opinions suggestions?
Thanks in Carmel, Indiana

Hello all, I was given a choice by my doctor on my acl surgery. He said I could do a bone-to-bone which uses my bone or I could use a cadavers. Does anyone...

Definitely use yours. At least that's what I've heard. Sometimes your body doesn't accept the cadaver's ligament. And I wouldn't want to get all the way...

Thanks, I'm leaning towards using my own and not a cadavers. I was told that a cadavers would become lax (not as lax as it is now). I plan on being active...

I had the surgery nearly 7 months ago and I opted for my own tissue. On me, the surgeon used part of my hamstring instead of the patella. I decided to go for...

Carmel - You're very early in your recovery. The numbing sensation will die down over the next few months, but it's probably a combination of nerve...
