Hi,
I am new to your forum and have a few questions. First I will give you
the circumstances leading up to my 2nd ACL revision.
I tore my R ACL and only my ACL in AUG 04 playing flag football. I had
ACl recon done NOV 12 04 using an Allograft. 8 months later July 05 I
tore my right medial meniscus (same knee) playing football (DR. Said
my knee was fine to play again. ACL held up but for some odd reason
meniscus tore (bucket handle tear if anyone wants to know). Dr. was
able to repair meniscus AUG 05 and checked on ACL and everything was
fine. Five months later JAN 06 and 14 months after ACL recon I was
doing some work that involved light pivoting and apparently I pivoted
wrong and I ended up tearing my ACL and my meniscus. Now the DR wants
to do another ACl recon but wants to use another Allograft. Is tjis a
god idea and if not why. What are some reccomendations for second ACl
recon. and reasons as to why ACL failed 14 months later nad meniscus
tore again?
