Hi,
Greatest THANKS to everyone who shared your experiences with me. I had a great
thing happen two days ago ~ my knee just clicked back "into joint" so to speak,
after being "out" and keeping me limited for several months. It's a bucket tear
(see kneeguru.com for clear diagrams of meniscal tears), which flops in and out.
It's been getting more frequent as the years go by. It always used to flip back
into the right position, until a few months ago, when it didn't, leaving me
immobile except in a walker, then gradually improving until I could walk a
couple blocks and go to work, taking much time off to rest and recuperate.
Now it's rapidly returning to near-normal, and I will again take the public
transportation tomorrow. Still a little pain, but nothing like before. I'm
soooooo glad I didn't jump into any operations as two orthos advised. May yet
have one sometime in the future, but for now, I'll just be hunting the best
ortho I can find in Blue Cross Los Angeles, making relationship with him/her,
and learning all I can about how to accelerate healing.
I have to add that karma seems to be closely linked to my condition. Bad karma
on my part when it went out, and good karma when it came back in. Having a knee
problem has made me walk slowly if at all, and see everyone peacefully instead
of hurriedly, and sympathize with all those who walk with difficulty whom I
didn't notice before. I am going to work diligently to never forget my lessons
from this time of encumberment.
It will undoubtedly "go out" again sometime, but I want to know as much as
possible for getting through it. Many people I've spoken with insist that knees
DO heal, and that positive approach is best. One accupuncturist I know well
said that treating the inner organs is what causes the extremities to heal.
Maybe something to that.
Very best wishes,
Kim
