Corey,
My OS does a lot of work with the Florida State University athletic teams, so I have a high regard for him. The main reason I trust him is, my daughter (who is a Vocational Rehabilitation councilor) said he is one of the best surgeons in Florida and has sent quite a few to him for surgery, with great results.
I was scared at first, but my daughter has dealt with many clients who have had this surgery and it seems to be the norm. I don't know if I received less PT because VR (Medicaid) is paying for it, but I trust my daughter. She couldn't be my councilor because of conflict of interest, but has helped me not get a "raw deal" from anyone.
In any case, I know I must continue my PT on my own, so today, I'm going to make a schedule and start keeping records.
I feel so lucky to have had such a good surgeon. I will see him a week from today. Hopefully he will get me in soon for the left knee meniscus cleanup.
I don't know how the future will turn out, but I do know I won't be skiing or karate sparring. I plan to start riding my bicycle as soon as the weather turns and walking.
As far as work goes, I plan to return to driving an 18-wheeler for a couple of years, while I start my own computer graphics/web design company. At age 51, I'm ready to slow down a little. (I reckon I'll have to:)
I will keep you posted about my next surgery and my current progress, I hope you will stay in touch and let me know how you are progressing.
Mystic
P.S. I absolutely adore your cats!!!
