Hi,
I am new to the group. I have been living with chondromalacia and
arthritis for about 7 years. Last year I had an arthroscopic
debrigement on my right knee, and the doctors discovered my
chondromalacia was +4 with arthritic changes in lateral and medial
compartments. Since then, my knee has gotten progressively
worse. I am now seeing a new ortho, who has suggesested a tibial
osteotomy. (My knee cap is sitting on the lateral side of my knee
instead of in the groove. For some reason, my previous ortho did not do
a lateral release.) So now, I am looking at another surgery. I was
wondering if any one has had a tibial osteotomy. I have a few questions
about this surgery. Such as, what kind of time frame for recovery? How
long before travel and driving are possibe? Is this surgery worth it? I
would appreciate any advice anyone has.
