Hi,
I am a sixty-five (almost sixty-six) year old woman who had arthroscopic surgery in December of last year. My knee was hurting for almost a year before I had the operation. I had a meniscus tear (medial) and the small torn part was cut out. The doctor said the cause was probably degenerative as it was not due to an injury. Before I had the knee problem I was an avid hiker, hiking a few times a week about eight miles up and down steep hills. Hiking has been my greatest passion for almost 30 years. The doctor said the operation was a success and I should be able to hike again. Well, it has been seven months and I not only can not hike, I limp when I walk. I continue to do the physical therapy prescribed but my knee does seem to be getting better. Any suggestions? I really want to hike again.
