I don't believe I had any fever post surgery, if I did possibly only when in the hosp overnight, but not once I came home(but I also didn't take my temp at home).  I was allowed partial weight bearing from the time I had surgery, dr's rule of thumb for me was about 25%, more or less just to balance slightly and guide myself.  I went the full 6 weeks on crutches, and fully used them per dr's instructions till the day I got off them..walked into the hosp for a check up with them, and dropped them off in PT on the way out and walked with just the brace.
