Well, I will comment on the ACL surgery. Recently I just had the surgery to replace my ACL and well I am on day three POST -OP. Its not easy getting used to being on the crutches again and in A BRACE this size. But I am learning to cope. The biggest thing I am finding with the ACL surgery is keeping the swelling down. I do not go far and I keep my leg elevated and my second PT session is this tuesday. I hope that soon I will be able to use my leg normally again. I am have heard different things myself about this surgery and my doctor is said to be one of the best in the area. But as far as being nervous I understand your concern. But I can say after waiting a year to get this surgery almost that it was worth it. Because maybe now I have a chance towards a new walking and running opurtunity. We will see only time will tell. So I wish you luck and I know its not easy to recooperate.

I am scheduled to have ACL reconstruction on Sept. 10th (allograft). I am comfortable with the procedure for the most part but am leary because of a previous surgery I have had before. I had a Patellar tendon transfer (Goldwaithe) performed in 1995. I get the impression from my OS that it is not a major risk with having had that surgery performed but I am still a little concerned about the additional risks from having had this surgery done. Any guidance would be very much appreciated.
Thanks!
