Meniscus Transplant   Message List

Anyone have experience with Meniscus Transplant surgery? I had my
second ACL reconstruction (first one in 1991) about a year ago.
Both have been on my left knee. While the repair to my ACL has
given me back a lot of stability, my meniscus is virtually gone so
running, jumping and hiking, especially downhill, are too painful to
enjoy anymore. My understanding is that the one way to treat it
long-term would be a meniscus transplant, but I know very little
about the proceedure or the recovery.

Thanks in advance
