Re: [kneesurgeryforum] Knee Surgery

Jeannie,
It's actually Elmslie Trillat. I can't give you all the info you need on it but if you need more info you can type it into your search area and read what it has to offer in there. Sorry I'm not much help, but there is alot of information through Google. If you have MSN try that first. I will try to get some information for you. Are you thinking about having it done anytime soon? The best thing to do is put it off til you have all the information about it before going in blind.
I had the Fulkerson procedure done 2 1/2 weeks ago and I'm still not able to walk and put any weight on my leg. I had no idea EXACTLY what they were going to do until I saw the dr the morning of the procedure. I nnow have 2 screws in my left leg holding the bone in place and I'm going to be knobby kneed for the rest of my life. The recovery is going to take longer than expected too. At least 2 or 3 weeks before I can get rid of my imobilizer and another 12 or 13 weeks until I can stop wearing a regular brace. I'm crutch dependent right now and it's driving me crazy. I will be for another 2 or 3 weeks. I just hope the recovery goes faster. My insurance is only paying for 3 weeks of physical therapy due to me receiving preop therapy for 5 1/2 months. I'll be doing alot of extra at home therapy I guess. Anyway, good luck finding any info you can. I will try to keep searching. I will post what I find.
Amy
