Chris,
well, today I went to physical therapy again. They have me bending my knee to 50 now. Luckily my mom's computer chair lowers and raises. I can fit my leg under it pretty comfortably.I do my bending exercises as they ordered. I think the main problem is trying to bend it from sitting/laying down position.
I was in the hospital for about 6 hours on the 11th and went home. It was an out patient procedure. On the 12th I went back in about 2 because the pain meds weren't working. The procedure they did consisted of cutting a bone, moving it 3/4in, screwing it in place, shaving the cartilage (due to it being ragged I guess you could say), and cutting a muscle so that it wouldn't pull my kneecap over too much.
The P.T. pretty much said I would have my brace off in 3 weeks and it would take about 2-3 months for me to be able to walk without any assistance. I'm going twice a week for physical therapy. The only thing that sucks about that, I had 5 1/2 months of physical therapy prior to surgery and my insurance won't pay for more than 3 weeks. In other words, speedy recovery and alot of therapy at home.
I'm using crutches right now and I hate them. I've fallen once, so now I don't get up unless I have to. My boyfriend is very helpful, but since that's not working out, he won't be of much help anymore. To be honest I get irritated when I can't do anything. I can't clean, cook, move around, sleep on my side. NOTHING.
Anyway, i'm calling it a night.
Anyway, i'm calling it a night.
