Hi Everyone,

I've just joined the group and would like to ask a question. I'm having a proximal realignement on my left knee, right one to follow in a year or so. They have both been subluxing since I was a child and it appears to be hereditary, since my father had the same problem. I'd love to get any advice or info from someone who's already had it done. I'm overjoyed that the surgery is available since in the past I've always been told just PT, which obviously in  my case isn't enough. I am starting to get a little worried now though about the pain level, swelling, and mobility afterwards. How soon will I be able to bend the knee, bear weight, take the stair, carry my daughter? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I'm a 38 year old mother of a one year old, Daddy has no idea how busy he's going to be in the near future :)

Thanks,

Ashley
