Re: ACLT surgery this month

This month will be 7 month on the job. So I don't qualify for the
FMLA. I get short term disability/WC. Here's the deal... I was going
to quit the beginning of this month but on 12 January I got hurt at
work so I haven't turned in my notice. I absolutly HATE my job. The
OT from hell started in October and hasn't let up. Shift is 6PM-0230
but I have yet to leave before 0530!

Here in CO we (co-workers) are hired under the no notice
termination / quit policy. I'm trying to find out if I CAN quit and
STILL get my surgery and follow-up covered. I'm also trying to find
a lawyer that I can just to ask questions without being charged and
finding it is near impossible. Plus if one does take the case they
want 25%! Get real I don't even make enough to cover the expense.
Hence the 2nd job.

Regarding the ACLT surgery - what's the average time off your feet?
BTW it's my right knee. I drive a 5-speed and am pretty certain that
won't be a go for sometime but how long approximatly? My Dr. hasn't
been to clear on the fine details like pain after surgery and
recovery time. I do know this will be done outpatient. He's got me
going to PT twice a week to build up my quad prior to the surgery.
So far if I concentrate, I am able to straighten it but it constantly
feels like my leg is asleep and very unstable so I'm wearing a brace
during the day. The cold is another matter. OUCH! Oh, they found
arthrites in my knee as well so I'm taking 200mg Celebrex.
