Hello Jason and Noah,
My son Matt was initially prescribed Zarontin. It worked very well and
all of his seizures were controlled. He was also placed on Ritalin soon
after and about 1 1/2 years after being on Zarontin he is now on Depakote.
This is not because it did not work but there was something else coming into
the picture. He started having all the symptoms of partial complex seizures,
the doctor could not definitely diagnose and was reluctant to change the
meds. But after I insisted he switched to Depakote..........in answer to
your question yes Zarontin worked great but there are times when other things
may be needed.
