Hello,
My daughter was diagnosed with Absence seizures almost 2 years ago. We
have not been able to control the seizures with medication and just
this past March, Jessica was introduced to the Ketogenic diet. We are
finding this very difficult and so is she. My daughter is a bright
eyed, friendly, energetic kid. We are very lucky because she is very
reasonable about all of the strange things she must do on this diet. I
am looking for any tricks people may have for the cream and oil and
how best to make her feel full. She complains that she is hungry all
the time. Any tricks for treats would also be great. We have read some
books and the hospital has been pretty good with us, but here in
Canada, they are so busy that we feel sort of left on our own.
Just wondering how other people feel, we feel that this has totally
changed all of our lives, my husband and I feel guilty when we eat and
even more guilty when we give our son things my daughter loves. Anyone
who has advice, feel free to let me know.
Laurie
