Jaime- my daughter is 2 1/2 she also had IS, but luckily ACTH cleared that up
for 2 mos. Now she has LGS. We have tried seven diefferent medaications. We are
going to start the diet Oct 6th (I want to sooner), My experience is that some
of the meds that we tried (Klonopin & Gabitril) made her aggresive & turned her
into a zombie. They were a main contributing factor in slowing her developement.
Other meds she was allergic to or they just had no effect. I am kicking myself
now for not starting the diet 8 mos ago when we first considered it. I don't
know hard core statistics, but I bleieve that when meds aren't helping the diet
has a greater chance of helping. Good luck, let me know if you are going to
start, we might be doing it around the same time.
