our daughter, Sarah Dudley, and our life with a brain tumor.

We are inviting you to join a new list focusing on the financial issues
families face when dealing with a catastrophic diagnosis or chronic disease.

It is our feeling that there is an enormous gap in this area of health care
and there is little in the way of constructive information and resources
available to those who are so affected.

We hope to have a proactive group, ready to discuss creative solutions,
break down the barriers and find ways for families in need to obtain
assistance through fundraising activities, money management, employment and
insurance issues, team building and so on... All the challenges that can
become such a devastating burden, heaped upon the sadness of an assault on
health and life itself.

Occasionally these subjects can be off-topic on other lists. This is the
very purpose of this list. If you need help or if you have good ideas you
would like to share with others, please subscribe now!

We are inspired to share with you the story of our successes in our personal
fundraising effort. It has been a tremendously heart-warming experience,
bringing close our community as well as internet family in an unanticipated
variety of ways to provide support and share in the wonders of knowing our

We hope you can learn from what we have learned... and we believe there will
be so many good things to come from all the creative thinkers and the broad
experiences we will be able to share on this new list.

We hope to manifest positive steps to allow people to be better prepared to
advocate for their own financial interests while in the whirlwind of the
medical roller coaster, or while trying to recover from the after effects.

This is the beginning of a new way to discuss financial support and provide
assistance to others.
