Cindy,
are you checking Becca's urine for ketones to make sure she is in ketosis?
Sometimes MCT oil can be added to the diet to increase the ketones. Being in
high ketosis should take away her hunger.
We had to pad lock the refrigerator door and cabinets when my son first
started on the diet. I would say it took a good 6 weeks before he got over the
psychological need to eat food.
Stick with it. The sacrifice has been so worth it to have our son back.

My daughter Becca who has Angelman syndrome ( non verbal) started the
diet 02/18 and is still acting so hungry. I think maybe her calories
need to be increased. She is 6 years old and weighs 43 lbs. They have
her on just 1300calories per day, she gets 3 meals and 3 snacks. At
school she is trying to eat everything. Her seizures have been much
improved, but I feel bad for her because she just seems famished. How
long did it take others' children to get used to the lower amount of
food? I feel bad for her since she can not tell me she is hungry. We
go back to the dietitian on Thurs this week. Any suggestios would be
great. Thanks in advance! Cindy
