Sometimes the pill can cause dryness & can cause problems if you're trying
to use mucous to tell what part of your period your in. Other medications
both prescription and over-the-counter (otc) can cause dryness. The biggest
culprits of these are anti-histamines like Chlortrimaton-- (chlorphenerimine
generic) and Benedryl, tho these aren't the only ones that do this.
You might try something called "Replens" or aloe vera gel to get things a
bit more moist while making love. Aloe vera should be clear or slightly
milky-- like the water in a glass that just had milk in it and wasn't washed
before you put the water in, or slightly yellowish (like eggwhites of raw
eggs).
Kegel exercises can help some too by moving liquid in the vagina around a
bit.
If the dryness continues for some time, or becomes irritating, or you get
other symptoms of a vaginal infection or the symptoms of a urinary tract
infection (uti) then consult your doctor/ health-care provider. You may
have to adjust your medication or change your pill.
