Use your thumb to hold down the pelvic floor muscle and contract up against the thumb. This will provide some resistance and allow you to learn which muscle to contract. Kegelmaster

here!
I'm having trouble learning how to do Kegel exercises. I've read that
there are two ways to learn how to identify the muscles.
"If you can stop the stream of urine, you are tightening the
pubococcygeal muscle."
"...insert a finger into the vagina. You should then try to tighten
the muscles around your finger as if holding back urine. The abdominal
and thigh muscles should remain relaxed."
I can stop the stream of urine, but when I tried the finger method, I
couldn't make it tighten at all. Also, with both the urine and the
finger methods, I felt like my abs were engaged, which it says you
shouldn't do.
