Hi,
I’m 62
and reunited with my ex last August, but could not have i/c. Ob-gyn said he
saw no reason I couldn’t. Got 2nd opinion after watching
Berman & Berman on Discovery Health Channel from board-certified ob-gyn and
registered sex therapist. He prescribed vaginal PT. Have been doing it for a
month after a meeting and screening with the PT at the hospital. Practicing
Kegels. Yesterday, it all came together:
›
She had “prescribed” vibrating dilators (from sex toy
stores) in last two sizes; I got them a month ago and used them 2-3 minutes 2x
day well lubricated; she also gave me handouts on exercises, leg stretches etc
to open up the PC muscles and train them
›
Practiced Kegels, including in the car while driving and while
shopping at WalMart
›
Took warm baths before trying i/c to get the relaxation
›
She said use Crisco Oil or Slippery stuff because it had no phenol
glycol, a possible irritant (Vagisil SilkEE however worked for me); heck, I was
ready to try bacon grease
›
Yesterday she taught me to use my thumbs to insert in my vagina and
PRESS HARD on the left and right to get PC muscles to relax
›
She inserted a biofeed back probe and I watched the graph being
created as I squeezed and relaxed; my relaxation was not deep enough but after
10 exercises, it worked; I was very close to the consistent 30 muscle tone (but
not the 50 of a young woman)
›
She said my partner should start with HIP massage.
›
She said I should be practicing my kegels on HIM even if not
complete
›
She said I should get some adult videos (XX not XXX); I went to a
video store and got 3
›
My partner and I put one on last night and it worked; he was able
to come in fully
›
I could not tolerate him going sideways or around, only in and out
but he was able to achieve ejaculation and I had NO PAIN
›
We each had 2 glasses of Merlot also
›
Position that worked for me was flat on my back at the edge of the
waterbed, legs straight up, and him standing on the floor; that way he could
scome DOWN on those muscles and not trigger vaginismus
›
What can I say? Practice makes perfect.
›
Lesson learned: you have to keep TRYING and trying and
experimenting and not be afraid of some pain. You have to really let go. The
wine assisted me there.
I wish you all
luck! I highly recommend a physical therapist prescribed by an ob-gyn and
recommend you visit a sex shop also. I am working again and want to send up
balloons!! [Don’t tell my grandkids.]
