Hi there - I have seen a PT for this - see specializes in peliv muscle
therapy. You can practice by doing the following: when you begin to
pee, try to stop midway and then release the pee. This is the muscle
you need to contract and then release. I have vestibulitis and
apparently need to learn to relax my pelvic muscles before any work
can begin on the vestibultis problem. I try to tense and release
whenever I think of it - at best every 12 minutes or 5 times an hour.
It did help though to have the doctor show me if I was tensing from
the right place... your bum should not be squeezing when you do this.
If you stick your finger in there (vagina), you should be able to
feel a slight squeeze. Then you know you are doing it right. It
takes alot of concentration not only to squeeze, but to release the
pelvic muscle completley (resting). Carol.
