Hello
I have joined the group to send this one email. I hope you won't find
it intrusive and I hope you will think the work I am doing is
worthwhile.
Channel 4 is making a one hour long documentary about female sexual
dysfunction. Finally, a mainstream broadcaster is taking this
important women's health issue seriously. We are determined to
provide an informative, insightful and sensitive look at women's
sexual functioning.
We have met with many of the leading professionals who treat women in
the UK and they have agreed to work with us to help women who are
experiencing a loss of libido, difficulties with arousal,
dyspareunia, vaginismus, anorgasmia or any other problem that affects
a woman's enjoyment of sex.
Ultimately though, we want the documentary to be about women's
experiences. We are looking for 5 or 6 women who we can follow as
they receive treatment for their FSD. I realise that it will be very
difficult for many women to talk publicly about their problem and how
it affects their relationships, their health and their lives in
general. We hope, however, that if we can follow a small number of
women, the result will be an educational film that shows women that
sexual dysfunction is common, it is not something women should be
ashamed or embarrassed about and that there is help available.
I would love to hear from any women who are experiencing difficulties
with their sexual functioning. It is helpful for me to learn as much
as possible about women's experiences for my research into this vast,
complex area. Even if you don't think you would want to be filmed I
would like to hear from you. There's no commitment by contacting me
and all contact will be strictly confidential. You can email me at

I hope to hear from you.
Best wishes
