With the
number of shows growing, you can easily imagine how many new artists we need to
fill new roles, fill permanent or temporary replacements, play back-up
positions, etc.

Message----- From: Kappert, Ron Sent: 17 dcembre 2004 13:36 To: 'Eric Herber' Subject: FISAC-IRSF NEWS - TO ALL
Eric,
can please sent to all
your contacts, ( both ERSO and FISAC) as a FISAC-IRSF NEWS with the
attachments ( this way everyone can read it in one way or another. )Tks RON
It is not often that I get a chance to write to our rope skipping community
at large, members and others who are presently not, but who are working at
beingone in the future. I am very pleased and wish to take this opportunity to
inform you one and all, on what has been done, what will be completed in the
near future, and finally what is happening at the FISAC-IRSF level, new changes
concerning the board of directors included
Five great years have
passed like the blink of an eye, or the blur of a speed rope as some would say.
I have seen during my term as your president, our Federation grow from less
than a dozen or so member countries to well, into the present membership
numbering into the upper twenties, on top of that, we have added a complete
new Continental Organization (Asia, under direction and leadership of our Prof.
Lee from Korea), with twelve new members and still growing strong. Four of the
new Asian members countries were present at the WC2004 to compete.
They are
preparing now for their 3rd Asian Championships February 3rd
- 8th at the Titiwangsa Stadium, in Kaula
Lumpur, Malaysia. I have been asked by the organization
(ARSA) once again to go over to see how they have advanced since our last
meeting in 2004. We are presently working with South Africa, and hope into the near future to add the
last of the regions to our Rope Skipping Family. Once we reach the magic number
of forty member countries, we will pass to the next step into our future.
We have added another
event to the family of FISAC-IRSF World Championships, the FISAC World Cup,
it's debut was the WC2004 at the Gold Coast, Austrailia and this year won by
the team Rivierenhof club, Belguim. Talking about the WC2004, I wish to say it
was fantastic we all had a good time, and all the comments to date were
positive, A great big thanks to Jan Somers and her WC2004 crew, A job well bone
and appreciated by all. Oye! Oye!
We are working with and
have a very strong legal working constitution, a members code of ethics, World
Championship level rules which are updated by hard working Rules committee
under the direction of Lorraine Bannerman, as per the will of the members
on a by-yearly bases, the latest version will be made available on the website
January 1st as promised at the last AGM. The WC 2006 Bid book is on
the brand new website at www.fisac.org ( portal) for all to see, this book has
now become the standard and has made all the difference on how the World
Championships are now run.
We have competed serveral
projects over the last couple years, The Official FISAC-IRSF CALL-OUTON CD, is available to be download or ordered
for a small fee from the secretariat. We have the Rope Skipping on CD, for
information on ordering see the Website. There is the Judges CD, this is a
interactive CD to help prepare our future judges for the examinations, Email
the secretariat for these, they are available free. Finally a new addition to
the CD collection, "Rope Skipping Didactical", achieved thanks to Eric Herber (lay-out) and Nadine De Ridder (content),
which were available for the first time at the WC2004, and in twenty
languages, they can be purchased from your National Rope Skipping organization,
or they can be ordered 10$Euro or 10$US plus shipping from the FISAC-IRSF
secretariat. Supplies are limited mailto:info@...
Now for the not so happy
news, we are to loose three board members this year, First there is Birgit, who
has left us to go on to greater and no doubt bigger adventures with her special
projects, we wish her all the best. Than there is Jean, who has been with us
since the beginning of time , so it seems, her valued contribution as a board
member has been too numerous and would take me the next twenty pages or so to
mention it all, last of all there is Roger, the guiding light that has brought
the ERSO from where is was, to where it is now, a strong and healthy European
working organization, and my anchor to reality, when I surpass myself in hope.
All three will be missed, as colleges and as very dear friends.
Now for news on the
positive side, Eric, who has been one of our board members over the last 5
years, and the main mover and shaker behind many of the CD projects that have
orginated by FISAC-IRSF, moves into the position of Vice President on the
board, this is in direct result of him replacing Roger Smitties, who retired as
President of the ERSO. A special thank you goes out toEric, for all your help,
and Congratulations on your new responsiblities on both the boards.
Next we have returning
after two years of absence, the new President of Oceania, Greg Bannerman, who will automatically be
filling a Vice President position on the FISAC-IRSF board. For information and
clarification, the Presidents of the five Continential organization
automaticlly assume the fiveVice President postions on the FISAC-IRSF board as
per our constitution and bylaws. These are non elected positions on the board.
Finally I would like to
thank the members of the FISAC-IRSF board of Directors, Eric, Kajsa, Chris,
Richard, the Professor and finally Geert and Karrie, the glue, the paperwork
that has kept us all working together, member countries, athletes, future
athletes, coaches and the many many friends I have made all over the world over
the last four years, for all your gracious support, and in helping to keep our
dream alive and hope this will continue, the future is there to be explored. We
can do it !!!!
Seasons Greeting for the
New Year and hope that all your dreams and hopes come true in 2005
Yours in Sports
Ronald R Kappert.

ERSO-Board complete again
November 26, 2004
Last General Assembly we had three positions in the Board available for
candidates to be voted in.
These positions were filled and the General Assembly ended for that subject.
Because of Roger stepping down, we had one seat of the nine available for the
remaining of the period in the Board. This seat can be given by the
Board-members without an election procedure. After communication the
ERSO-Board-members decided without any exception to ask Sue Dale to fill this empty
seat for the remaining of the period, which will be until the next ERSO General
Assembly.
This question was then asked to Sue today. And she replied with: "Thank
you for the offer of position onto the ERSO Board.
I would like to accept, and look forward to working with everyone."

Info EC-Masters (Part 6: The final
part?!)
November 2, 2004
Just a couple of days more…
And then the 5th European Masters will be held in Eger
in Hungary!!!
As you all should know by now, this competition will have a slightly different
order of events, as well as a dynamic starting-order.
The first will be recognized by the fact that the Freestyles will be the last
event.
And the dynamic starting-order will be based on the results of the previous
event(s). After each event the starting-order will be shown, resulting in an
order, where the best ranked skipper will start latest.
The starting-order for the first event is based on the results of the most
recent World Masters (2004-Australia), European Masters (2003-Denmark) or a
random number.
Ready? Set? Go! Posted by Eric Herber on 28/10/2004 at 02:49
Step 1: Ask Jan Somers to organize an event Down Under.
What a place!!!
Step 2: Invite Kitti Horvath from Hungary.
Need I say more?
Step 3: Invite Benjamin Mahy from Belgium.
Excellent camera work.
Step 4: Ask Kata Sasvri from Hungary to publish it through a website.
Good thinking
Step 5: Ask Jim Roy fromIndia to have a look at it.
Check her hind leg in a perfect 45 degree incline with the hill in the background and the foreleg in perfect alignment with the horizon. I brightened the colours and sharpened the original image and made it downloadable :-)

New
World
Record...
Posted by Eric Herber
on 24/10/2004 at 16:34
Today in BelgiumBen Hoste
(Belgium)
set a new World Record in 30 seconds. In 30 seconds he collected 455 points.
This is equivalent for 182 times skipping the rope: Right foot counting only
x 5.
He also 'skipped' a new European Record in the
endurance. In three minutes we scored 435 points. Also here only the right
foot is counted, making it 870 skips in 180 seconds. The World Record holder
is still with 436 points Mike Fry
(USA).
The absolute record-holder is still a female! Alexandra Toth (Hungary) scored
94 in
30 seconds and and 445 in three
minutes. Last weekend she scored again 94, but with two little mistakes...
With the upcoming European Masters in two weeks in Eger (Hungary)
this is is becoming an interesting and potentially record-breaking
Championship.

More and more people see
Rope Skipping.
Today I was pointed to
an article in the right column of a Dutch Newssite http://www.NU.nl
http://www.nu.nl/news.jsp?n=419712&c=10
“
Springen!
Een man uit India
heeft het snelheidsrecord touwtje springen verbroken. De 43-jarige Ranjit Pal
sprong in 15 seconden 136 keer. Pal hoopt dat hij hiermee in het Guiness Book
of Records komt. "Ik heb ondertussen nog wel geoefend, ik kan nu 150 of
160 keer springen in 15 seconden," aldus Pal. De man begon pas 2 jaar
geleden met touwtje springen.
”
As you can see it is Dutch! The translation says:
“
Jumping!
A man from India broke the speedrecord
RopeSkipping. De 43-year old Ranjit Pal jumped in 15 seconds 136 times. Pal
hopes that he will be added in the Guiness Book of Records. “I have
practised more now, ik kan now make 150 to
160 times in 15 seconds,” Pal sais.
The man started only 2 years ago with
Rope Skipping.
”
July 25, 2004, I was at
the World Championships Rope Skipping in Tallebudgera (Brisbane, Australia).
I was there as a
Board-member and responsible for the computer- / competitionprogramme for
FISAC-IRSF, the International Rope Skipping Federation (http://www.IRSF.org).
I was also there as a
delegation-representative for The Netherlands. Because Martin Loenen participated in the WC-Masters (=
individual.
That Sunday Martin
became third in the Men’s division in the event ’30 seconds
Speed’. In this event for every step made, the rope needs to make one
complete rotation. His score was: 425 points. The score is composed of: [Number
of steps with the right foot] x 5, which is 164 steps in 30 seconds.
That Sunday the World
Record was broken. Alexandra
Toth from Hungary
scored 470 points, which are
188 steps in 30 seconds.
Because I’m one of
the first to introduce Rope Skipping as as Sport as we know it in India,
I contacted Jim Roy immediately. He is one of
the Bord-members of the RSFI (= Rope Skipping Federation of India). He also
doesn’t know anything about this person or achievement. But he also says
that India
is a very BIG country….
I do kno wthat in the
Guiness Book of records the following records are added / entered:
“10 sec: 128
Albert Rayner (Great Britain)
19 Nov 1982 inBirmingham.
1 minute: 425 Robert
Commers (USA) 23 Feb 1990 in Jamestown (USA)”
And logically Pal should
be in the book, because there is not yet mentioned the 15 seconds. As an
achievement per second however the score of Pal is not interesting: Albert
Rayner: 12.8 per second. Pal: 9.067 per second……..
So one conclusion could
be: The man from India
is an absolute worldtalent and should participate as soon as possible at the
next WC.
Another conclusion could
be: The man from India
(as also Rayner and Commers) use another technique then the ‘one step per
rotation’.
A third possible
conclusion could be: The man from India didn’t jump 136 times
in 30 seconds.
I hope that someone can
tell / show me more about this remarkable achievement. Because until I’ve
met the man OR see the video of his skipping I will make follow the third
conclusion.

Info EC-Masters (Part 4)
October 4, 2004
In five weeks, the European Masters will have ended already.....
But before we have reached that point, there is still a lot to do.....
Because of injuries and late qualifiers (in Belgium), there can be changes in
the names of the registrants. The number is fixed to the minimum displayed.
Changing of names / persons is allowed until November 6, 08:00.
Additional registration of skipper(s) is also still possible until November
1st. But with an additional payment of Euro 50.00 per person to be registered.
This is ONLY for competitors!
All other persons registering pay additional Euro 10.00 when using the
ERSO-MUKSZ-arrangement.
Payments:
Date for Payment have closed also. So far only the money of UK is being received in the Hungarian
account. One of the reasons could be the missing of the BIC-code for the bank.
This code is the same as the SWIFT-code. And therefore: BANK Acc. Number :
61600070-10008937 BANK Name : Agria Takark
Szvetkezet BANK Address : 3300 Eger Katona
ter 7-9 Town of the account:Eger Account-holder: Maklar Sports Club IBAN Number : HU17 6160 0070 1000
8937 0000 0000 SWIFT = BIC : TAKBHUHB
All outstanding and additional payments will be accepted without a penalty-fine
until October 14. All payments after that date will be fined with an additional
payment of Euro 50.00. A signed and stamped by the bank copy of the bank-
transfer of transferring the money before October 14 is considered proof of
payment.
All fines and additional payments will have to be paid on arrival in Eger in Hungary
and before participation on November 6th.
Photo's:
MUKSZ and Maklr, the Hungarian host-organizations, need digital photos of all
participant together with the registration!!!
Reason for this is the production of a brochure where every participant /
competitor will be shown!!!
Because of the production of a 'passe-par-tout' (= a card to enter the hall without
additional charges and to have access to all facilities paid for) also all
other registrants, those who have registered for the 140 or 190 Euro-package (=
supporter, coach, judge....), are requested to send in their photo as soon as
possible to em_hungary@...
or EM-2004@... with your name and
country.
Please send in your photo before October 20!!
Photo's received after this date will be processed, but will be resulting in
delay upon arrival and registration.

relax max.. you're going to have a seizure.. :-)
For me personally, the reason i joined this group is because i like ropeskipping. But very soon I have noticed that most people are very advanced into this, unlike me.
So as a result of that, I can learn a lot from you and enjoy the sports, but It's very hard for me to give you indications of talk about rulings when i'm only an amateur at this not knowing exactly how it's all done.
Nevertheless, I learn from the things I read and my rope skipping has much improved, at least the techniques that is.
So, would I tell you to continue doing what you do? off course... but will you be able to 'allready' receive any kind of input from my side? I'm afraid not.
I think there are many in your list just like me. So dont give up on us just yet ;-)
Cheers
.
Catch ya later.

The list website has been updated -- after much guilt in not paying ANY attention to it. Now has a message board, a chat room, links, and more! If anyone has any action shots they'd like to send in for greeting cards, send some my way, thanks! - GarlandGrl@... (Ginny)
