Hello everyone!
I know that there is an incredible amount of talent and information
on this list, there must be something we all have in common or would like to
talk about. In attempt to start topic again...I will give you a little
information about myself:
I've been jumping for 10 years on Jumping for Joy, with coach Cindy
Joy. My Mother taught me how to do single bounce when I was 4 years old, for
she too loved jump rope at a very young age. I've loved every moment since a
rope was first put into my hand, I felt that I had the power and the strength
to do everything I wanted with that rope and I'm sure I annoyed Mrs. Joy on
the playground by showing her each and every trick I accomplished one by one.
I have always been very shy, yet with a rope in my hand, I could go
out in front of a crowd of a thousand and not care. I've been all over the
state of California demonstrating at places like Disney Land, Sea World, and
many sports venues. Jump rope brings out the best in people and I've met the
nicest people by traveling to the Netherlands, Belgium, and in many jump rope
camps around the US that I have attended, of whom I would not have met, if I
were not involved with jump rope.
It would take me forever to be able to describe the benefits of this
sport, which is why I must cut this short and also why I created this list to
share these feelings with others and I thank all of you for being a part of
this! So far, I've dedicated my life to this sport...which has given me
nothing but opportunities. I hope younger generations will see this, in
hopes that jump rope athletes will be ranked with the greatest names in
sports.
I would love any suggestions on how to get the list going and talk
more openly on the sport that connects us all together. Maybe you might even
have some questions or challenges for the way competition is set up and
judged...this sport is so new, any suggestions here, can bring changes to
things that may not be quite right yet.
