Hi everybody,
Since three days I have a digital video camera... so if there is a skill that you like to see, just ask me and I try do to it for you :) I love it to promote rope skipping. And it is great to know that people are learning rope skipping with the movies on internet. Over 1,5 month I leave to south africa to promote rope skipping for a year. I am working on some good promotion materials.
If you have great ideas or think that you can help me please let me know. I hope that we stay a team in rope skipping with respect for everyone. There are a lot political problems in rope skipping but that's normal for a young sport. I only know that a sport can't survive with enthousiastic skippers like we are!!! So keep up the good work, the sport is really growing in the world. Anyway enjoy this three pictures. I know it is me but I like them.
Greetings,
Maarten Goedemé

You're right! :( Few people do talk on the list and it can be such a wonderful resource, which is why I started it. Come on guys! I know there are some political reasons why some do not chat, I know coaches that are subscribed do not talk because it's "for the kids" and so on -- but really, I feel this is the problem, not the solution. This group is mostly made up of older skippers (college age and even older) and coaches.
The reason why my website isn't that great is that I really don't have very many action pictures and I don't want it cluttered with pictures of myself (I'm not one for self promotion). So again, I will plead for pictures to be sent into me! Videos too! Like Frank, maybe portions of your Japan video, that would be awesome. Just want you guys to know that, the more material I am able to give to potential viewers (with consent), the more I'll be able to do to promote the sport and this list.
Maarten needs to be saluted. He's done everything I've wanted to do all along and more... And Eric Herber as well. Both have contributed a great deal to the Internet jump rope scene and this is where I would assume a lot of people get their information.
One little side note, I've heard people being questioned off the list about things they have asked ON the list and told not to ask questions as they did. PLEASE guys, that's not what our sport is about. If I here any more negative comments off list towards members, I will have problems with you. I want EVERYONE to feel comfortable posting. If we don't feel comfortable as a group, then we should disban and I think that would be unfortunate for everyone here, because we COULD gain so much out of it.
The "Jump Rope" group has been around for over four years, there are 91 members today... we've had healthy debates, normal misunderstandings and great information going to new and old jumpers alike. Not as much as I would have liked to have seen, but it shows potential.
And, I'm sorry for having to write such a sermonic post, but Jim brought up what I've been feeling all along and I'm sure a few others have felt the same way. So, thanks Jim!! I bow to you... and please feel free to ask anything you wish to the list!
Now, if someone could just explain to me how to do a double under frog and I actually get this before I'm 90, I'll die a happy jump roper/rope skipper.
Thanks for hearing me out!

The list website has been updated -- after much guilt in not paying ANY attention to it. Now has a message board, a chat room, links, and more! If anyone has any action shots they'd like to send in for greeting cards, send some my way, thanks! - GarlandGrl@... (Ginny)
