Re: [Jump Rope] Jumping on concrete?

Hi Peter,

I've been jumping rope for 18 years now, and when I first started I use
to jump rope outside on concrete. I loved it but it started to take a
toll on my knees. Now, I jump indoors on a cushioned exercise mat. I was
lucky enough to get one free with a treadmill years ago (I believe it
was suppose to go underneath the equipment to protect the carpet). Since
then I have priced them online and they can be rather expensive but mine
has lasted forever and I jump almost everyday, I have yet to see any
signs of it wearing down. Also, jumping on a mat will preserve your
ropes (as well as your joints), on concrete I use to go through rope
after rope. I have a question, does anyone ever incorporate ankle/wrist
weights into their routine? Landa
