Subject: FISAC-IRSF NEWS - TO ALL

Eric,

can please sent to all your contacts, ( both ERSO and FISAC) as a FISAC-IRSF NEWS  with the attachments ( this way everyone can read it in one way or another. ) Tks  RON

It is not often that I get a chance to write to our rope skipping community at large, members and others who are presently not, but who are working at beingone in the future. I am very pleased and wish to take this opportunity to inform  you one and all,  on what has been done, what will be completed in the near future, and finally what is happening at the FISAC-IRSF level, new changes concerning the board of directors included

Five great years have passed like the blink of an eye, or the blur of a speed rope as some would say. I have seen during my term as your president, our Federation grow from less than a dozen or so member countries to well, into the present membership numbering into the upper  twenties, on top of that, we have added a complete new Continental Organization (Asia, under direction and leadership of our Prof. Lee from Korea), with twelve new members and still growing strong. Four of the new Asian members countries were present at the WC2004 to compete.

They are preparing now for their 3rd Asian Championships February  3rd - 8th  at the Titiwangsa Stadium, in Kaula Lumpur, Malaysia. I have been asked by the organization (ARSA) once again to go over to see how they have advanced since our last meeting in 2004. We are presently working with South Africa, and hope into the near future to add the last of the regions to our Rope Skipping Family. Once we reach the magic number of forty member countries, we will pass to the next step into our future.

We have added another event to the family of FISAC-IRSF World Championships, the FISAC World Cup, it's debut was the WC2004 at the Gold Coast, Austrailia and this year won by the team Rivierenhof club, Belguim. Talking about the WC2004, I wish to say it was fantastic we all had a good time, and all the comments to date were positive, A great big thanks to Jan Somers and her WC2004 crew, A job well bone and appreciated by all. Oye! Oye!

We are working with and have a very strong legal working constitution, a members code of ethics, World Championship level rules which are updated by hard working Rules committee under the direction of Lorraine Bannerman, as per the will of the members on a by-yearly bases, the latest version will be made available on the website January 1st as promised at the last AGM. The WC 2006 Bid book is on the brand new website at www.fisac.org ( portal) for all to see, this book has now become the standard and has made all the difference on how the World Championships are now run.

We have competed serveral projects over the last couple years, The Official FISAC-IRSF CALL-OUT ON CD, is available to be download or ordered for a small fee from the secretariat. We have the Rope Skipping on CD, for information on ordering see the Website. There is the Judges CD, this is a interactive CD to help prepare our future judges for the examinations, Email the secretariat for these, they are available free. Finally a new addition to the CD collection, "Rope Skipping Didactical", achieved thanks to Eric Herber (lay-out) and Nadine De Ridder (content), which were available for the first time at the WC2004,  and in twenty languages, they can be purchased from your National Rope Skipping organization, or they can be ordered 10$Euro or 10$US plus shipping from the FISAC-IRSF secretariat. Supplies are limited  mailto:info@...

Now for the not so happy news, we are to loose three board members this year, First there is Birgit, who has left us to go on to greater and no doubt bigger adventures with her special projects,  we wish her all the best. Than there is Jean, who has been with us since the beginning of time , so it seems, her valued contribution as a board member has been too numerous and would take me the next twenty pages or so to mention it all, last of all there is Roger, the guiding light that has brought the ERSO from where is was, to where it is now, a strong and healthy European working organization, and my anchor to reality, when I surpass myself in hope. All three will  be missed, as colleges and as very dear friends.

Now for news on the positive side, Eric, who has been one of our board members over the last 5 years, and the main mover and shaker behind many of the CD projects that have orginated by FISAC-IRSF, moves into the position of Vice President on the board, this is in direct result of him replacing Roger Smitties, who retired as President of the ERSO. A special thank you goes out toEric, for all your help, and Congratulations on your new responsiblities on both the boards.

Next we have returning after two years of absence, the new President of Oceania, Greg Bannerman, who will automatically be filling a Vice President position on the FISAC-IRSF board. For information and clarification, the Presidents of the five Continential organization automaticlly assume the fiveVice President postions on the FISAC-IRSF board as per our constitution and bylaws. These are non elected positions on the board.

Finally I would like to thank the members of the FISAC-IRSF board of Directors, Eric, Kajsa, Chris, Richard, the Professor and finally Geert and Karrie, the glue, the paperwork that has kept us all working together, member countries, athletes, future athletes, coaches and the many many friends I have made all over the world over the last four years, for all your gracious support, and in helping to keep our dream alive and hope this will continue, the future is there to be explored. We can do it !!!!

Seasons Greeting for the New Year and hope that all your dreams and hopes come true in 2005

Yours in Sports

Ronald R Kappert.
