HI Everyone

 

This will be the last update from the FISAC-IRSF Secretariat until most of you will be on site, I will be welcoming you all and personally look forward to meeting each and everyone over the days that we will be together at the great event, The `WORLDS`, the W2004 committee both the Australian group and the FISAC-IRSF members have worked so hard to make this the most amazing event, and await your arrival. But as they say, We have a couple of points of interest to mention, so there will be no confusion on your arrival.

 

AIRPORT PICKUP:

we still do not have the arrival times for 120 people, as Jan says the coffee shop at the airport is open 24hrs, (``We are still waiting on flight info for 120 people - the coffee shop at Brisbane airport is very nice but we don't want you spending the night there``.) but I think it would be better to be picked up and have your coffee at you final place of stay. Please ck the enclosed excel spread sheet to see if your time and flight information is listed.

 

ID CARDS:

Everyone who sent their pictures as part of their registration will find that life can be very easy, on your arrival you pick up your information, your ID card and well, you are on your way to your lodging. IF you did not send the passport pictures, SMILE (it will be posing time), because you will not be allowed in until the ID card is completed, and that is with Picture.

 

LODGING ARRANGMENTS:

 

Still need rooming arrangements from many countries so we can arrange linen for you, gets a little nippy during the night under the southern stars Australia

 

INFORMATION HAND BOOK:

 

Make sure you down load the latest copy of the info handbook and bring it with you as there will only be one booklet available per room on site. Thirty one skippers all wanting to look at the Handbook and all wanting to see different pages (fun….)

COUNTRY BUDDIES:

 

We have appointed an Australian to be a Country Buddy for each country.  Each country will have a matching country representative.  Take your questions to your country representatives who will liaise with our country buddy to solve all your problems. They will be able to help with questions like.  What should we wear to the Casino?  How do we get to Skipperella??  SEE ATTACHED LIST FISAC-IRSF ORGANIZATION.doc.

We ask that you choose someone at each of your locations to represent your country, who will forward any request on your behalf, we don’t want 31 skippers to all ask at the same time the same thing, ``we need……..`` Please forward your choice to info@... as soon as possible.

 

COMMUNICATIONS:

 

WC2004 committee is asking that all countries involved in the WC2004 FISAC=GOLD COAST championships follow the lines of communications as stated in the attachment to insure a smooth running of the championships.

 Coaches and Managers please take note of the attached file (FISAC-IRSF ORANIZATION.doc) not following these lines of communication could result in late response to any problems. This is for all WC2004 questions other than LOGISTICS.  For logistics, rooms, food, etc, we ask that you have your representative contact the Country buddy assigned to your country and location ( see attached FISAC-IRSF ORGANIZATION.doc)

 

MEETINGS:

 

Any additional meeting times and places not in the handbook will be posted on the notice board for all to read.

 

STILL PHOTOGRAPHY:

 

This will be allowed, but we are asking that at competition sites ( that is during actual competition)  that you reframe from using FLASH, This does cause untold problems for the athletes. Notices will be posted to this affect, if you are using a flash, you will be asked not to, very nicely, if it happens again, you will be asked to leave by the security staff. And not be allowed to return for the day.  Please govern yourselves accordingly, you have been advised before hand.

 

VIDEO PHOTOGRAPHY:

 

Personal video taping during the actual competition will be allowed, but restricted to the stands only, as no one other than competitors and officials will be allowed on the floor level. If you wish to do video, on entry to the competition site you will be asked to sign a form stating that, what you video tape is for personal use only and not be used for distribution of any sort or for monetary gains (Copyright laws in all countries will apply). No commercial video taping will be allowed, no exceptions,  this event is listed and registered on public record as a FISAC-IRSF copyright production, with all rights belonging to FISAC-IRSF WC2004. We have on site a production company video taping both championships, included the opening and closing with the world cup.

 

BE ADVISED:  ``NO`` VIDEO TAPING WILL  BE ALLOWED IN THE CASINO – World Cup and closing ceremonies. (NO EXCEPTIONS)

 

A Professional made DVD of the FISAC-IRSF/GOLD COAST INTERNATIONAL WC2004 will be made and can be obtained, by filling in an order form, and submitting 20$US for handling and shipping or equivalent to the FISAC-IRSF offices on site, or later from the secretariat. When they are ready in the middle of August they will sent to you.

 

 

FISAC-IRSF JUDGING COURSE:

 

Wednesday July 21, 2004,    START 08:30 – ``Be there or be square``  Exam at 13:30

 

 

MESSAGE CENTER:

 

World Parents, friends, competitors, Be advised, that we will have installed a WC2004 message center: This will allow you to send short messages, wishes of good luck or congratulations to your loved ones in Australia during the Championships. Messages will be forwarded daily.

This is the first time at a FISAC-IRSF Worlds Championship that this service is made available;  We are trying also to have computers installed on site for individual competitors who reside on site to use. WC2004 Message Center email address is wc2004@... . Please have in the subject line the name of the addressee and country to whom the email is addressed, FISAC-IRSF Secretariat

First, A Big thank you to our hosts of the WC2004 FISAC-GOLD COAST CHAMPIONSHIPS, Jan Somers and her fine crew, just too many names to mention, for all the preparations, to insure that we all will be well taken care of, and have the time of our life, down under. (Jan says don’t forget the Beanies and the swim suits)

 

Another big thank you to some of my  valued board members and staff, who have worked with me side by side, tolled long hours and who have taken on the leadership of certain aspects of the Championships from the paperwork to making the championships a reality, (Geert, Eric, Karrie and Rich)
