I'm sending this E-mail to more than one American I know. Sorry for this
unfriendly way of contacting you with a personal favour which I ask from
you!!

Today I received an E-mail from my collegue in our University.
I've inserted the Dutch text at the end of this E-mail ;-)

I hope my English is good enough to translate this...........

A former collegue of my moved to the States a couple of years ago.
Between then and now, Ronald was operated because of braintumor.
After a period of recovering, again doctors found tumors.
His headaches are back and although he and his wife have a posititive
life-style and attitude, they have big concerns. He is on new mediaction and
he possibly / most likely needs radiation.

Now I come to my question:
This Sunday he will celebrate his birthday in his town Houston. We've heard
that the Superbowl will be held there that day and that it is nearly
impossible to get tickets.
Is it possible for (one of) you to get / arrange tickets for Ronald and his
family to visit this event?!?!?
And if you can't, then perhaps you know someone who can?!?!?

I hope that you can let me know a.s.a.p. if it is possible or not.

Onderwerp: Roland


Beste mensen,

Ik heb nog regelmatig contact met Roland Schilder, de meesten van jullie wel
bekend.
Roland laat jullie groeten en wenst het allerbeste voor 2004.

Helaas gaat het met hem minder goed, na een, naar het zich liet aanzien,
redelijk herstel (hij is inmiddels weer aan het werk) zijn er toch weer
nieuwe tumoren geconstateerd.
Zijn hoofdpijn is terug en ondanks hun buitengewoon positieve instelling
maken Amy en Roland zich toch grote zorgen.
Nieuwe medicatie wordt nu geprobeerd en de resultaten afgewacht wellicht is
opnieuw bestraling noodzakelijk.
Roland viert zondag as zijn verjaardag, misschien voor hen die hem als een
fijne collega hebben ervaren aanleiding iets van zich te laten horen.(e-mail
schilder_r@...).
En zijn wij tot een stunt in staat ? De super bowl American footbal wordt
gespeeld in zijn woonplaats Houston, het is vrijwel onmogelijk om kaarten te
krijgen hoe krijgen wij hem en z'n familie daar binnen ? (zomaar een idee )
