I keep a tube of lidocane ointment in the house at all times for the
burn. I put it on with some A&D ointment. It works just fine for the
burn. For the itch I use Nystatin and Triamcinolone Acetonide cream,
USP. Both are RX, so tell your doc you want them. Tell him before you go
home from the hospital. Just print out this email and hand it to him.
Best of luck
Niles

Hi All,
I have my takedown tomorrow morning and I was wondering when does all of
the butt burn/itch begin? I am quite familiar with butt burn the past
year and half and have been happy to be without it the past 11 weeks,
but now I just get in around the stoma. I used Boudreaux's Butt Paste
and it worked great. I am hoping it will continue to help me in the
future. I have it packed along with some cotton balls that I read about
in another post. I have found a wealth of knowledge from reading all of
the posts here and look forward to learning more about my new plumbing
system. Keep the information flowing.
Thanks,
Kevin

Guys, I know there is a solution out there somewhere to the
dreaded "itch". I've had it fairly off and on since the takedown, but
for the most part, its been liveable. Last night it wasn't, and I was
up all night applying every kind of cream we had in the house (I
stopped at Crisco!) and finally soaking in an Aveeno filled tub. That
only seemed to help enough to let me get some sleep. I've been going a
lot lately, it seems, so I stopped taking the Citrucel my doctor wants
me to take, and want to take more Immodium (she also wants me to cut
back a bit, and use the Citrucel--I don't get it though, why do I want
a laxative?). This puts me up to about 10 times a day. Calmoseptine
isn't as calming anymore, it seems, and nothing seems to work. Any
ideas?
Rick
By the way, strengthwise, and achy-butt wise, I'm feeling pretty good.
