This HIV/AIDS network in Asia regional, called JANGKAR ( INDONESIAN HARM REDUCTION NETWORK ) is the Nationwide communication forum among Non Government Organizations/ Civil Society Organizations and also Individuals who have concern about the prevention HIV new transmition and Death cause of AIDS inside drug users community, especially those who intravenous inject Drugs.

JANGKAR was founded during 2000, but officially declarated itself in Jakarta- Indonesia on August 25-2002 beside first global Harm Reduction Workshop, conducted by Non-Government Organizations ( NGOs), working drug related Harm.

As the national forum for HIV/AIDS NGOs, JANGKAR empowering Civil Society to reduce HIV infection and AIDS - related deaths among IDUs in Indonesia. Within encouraging and pushing for public policies that provide a supporting and develope environment for the implementation of Harm Reduction among IDUs, their partners and negative impact family members and support them in effort to reduce stigma and Discrimination

JANGKAR also to strengthening the capabilities of members for enhancing their capacity of organizations and related institutions, including society at large, to participate and provide support for Harm Reduction related IDUs issues.

This communication act as a forum to strengthen networking among civil societies and related formal institutions, to open access for enhancing capabilities of JANGKAR Members, as Database center for information related advocacy activities through public policies and behaviour changes.
