I am just writing to any new patient of either Ulcerative Colitis or
Crohn's disease.  It's been 19yrs ago since a teenage girl laid in a
hospital bed recuperating from a 9 hour surgery.  I want you to know
that if you have an ostomy from these disease's don't think no one
will be attracted to you or nobody will ever want to be around you.
I went through all those thoughts especially since I was a teenager
and yet I am married to a wonderful man and because I accept that
without that surgery I wouldn't be alive and I am so thankful to be
alive.  I have had 2 children, and am very content not to be running
to the bathroom every 5 minutes can't leave the house and now I can
shop all day without stopping for a bathroom break.  I am hoping
with the way science is going who knows maybe some day they'll
beable to take our DNA and make a replacement organ for whatever a
person is needing.  How wonderful it would be to have a doctor take
DNA and grow a new digestive tract and replace what has failed us
with something made from our own dna so no rejection to worry about.
Someday it could happen So keep your head up and know there are a
lot of people like us out there just smile and be glad to be
alive!!  Your obviously are here on earth for a reason I've been
waiting to find out what my reason is but I know God has a plan for
me I just have to wait til he shows me His will.  Keep smiling
