Traditional Thai Yoga Massage Certification Training
Traditional Thai Massage is an act of meditation for both giver and
receiver. It incorporates the best stretches from traditional Hatha
Yoga, the depth of auyurvedic medicine, and Chinese acu-point
theory. It is rooted in and practiced with a sense of Bhuddist
spiritual serenity. It is luxurious, challenging, intimate, and deeply
therapeutic.
You will learn the form of Nuad Bo - Rarn, as it has been practiced
in the Wats (temples) for almost 2500 years. The first section of the
training will focus on treatment sequences in supine, prone,
side-lying , and sitting positions. Emphasis will be placed on
learning safe and effective therapist body mechanics. Specialized
segments will be taught for each major joint as well as visceral organ
massage. The latter half of the training will focus on
flow, integration, and assessment. There will be a requirement of 8
hours of documented practices outside of the classroom. Students will
receive certification after performing an acceptable two hour
treatment on one of the instructors.
This beautiful and ancient bodywork form is becoming internationally
popular. Many local spas such as Sonoma Mission Inn, Osmosis Enzyme
Bath and Spa , Auberge Du Soleil, and the Spa Hotel Healdsburg now
offer Thai Massage.

3 Pillars of Success for Massage Therapists:
Self Care, Ethics, and Conscious Business
It is estimated that the average career life for massage therapists
is between 1-3 years. Repetitive stress injuries from poor body
mechanics and lack of conscious business skills are two of the main
reasons why new therapists leave the profession .
This class is designed to provide the new as well as the seasoned
therapist with useful tools and resources to tune up their body and
power up their practice ! We will feature local instructors of Tai
Chi, Qi Qong, Yoga, and Self Massage to introduce self care programs
that boost personal power and defeat the debilitating effects of
repetitive motion. We will feature discussion and role play elevating
consciousness around professional bodywork ethics. And we will present
a "conscious business" model with real tools and local resources to
boost your practice.
Whether you have been practicing bodywork for months or years, you
will benefit from the fresh insights and tools this class will present.

Traditional Thai Yoga Massage for the Table
This class is an introduction to the Traditional Massage of
Thailand. It is designed for therapists who work primarily with the
massage table. Thai Massage is traditionally applied on a floor
bodywork mat. Asian Bodywork applied on the table requires Body
Mechanix that are radically different from the application of the
Western styles of Swedish-Esalen and Deep Tissue massage. I have
selected techniques from Traditional Thai Massage. We will work fully
clothed, utilizing supine, side lying , and prone positions. You will
learn a restorative approach which will bring the body into balance.
These techniques are taken from a bodywork that is an integral part of
the cultures health care / spiritual healing system. It works
beautifully as a spa treatment if it is softened. You will learn
effective acu-points, stretches , and mobilizations. You will have an
increased awareness of your own energetic center, and be more
therapeutic in all of your treatments.
September 29-30, 2005: 16 hours $150.00 Santa Rosa
