Traditional Thai Massage is an act of meditation for both giver and
receiver. It incorporates the best stretches from traditional Hatha
Yoga, the depth of auyurvedic medicine, Chinese acu-point theory with
Bhuddist spiritual serenity. It is luxurious, challenging, intimate,
and deeply therapeutic. You will learn the form of Nuad Bo - Rarn, as
it has been practiced in the Wats (temples) for almost 2500 years. Our
focus for this workshop is professional training for Massage Therapists
and Yoga instructors. We will teach a full body two hour treatment in
a demonstration - practice format. The workshop features 42 classroom
hours of instruction and practice.There is a requirement of 6
documented practice sessions outside of the classroom. Students will
receive a California State BPPVE certificate of completion after
performing a satisfactory 2 hour treatment on one of the instructors.
Tim Holt is a nationally certified massage therapist, teaches
internationally, and is director of the new East West Massage School in
Sebastopol. He has studied in Chiang Mai with several respected
teachers, holds a Teacher Training Certification from I.T.M., and has
been practicing Nuad Bo-Rarn for 12 years. Abby Bard is an accomplished
massage therapist who specializes in Traditional Thai Massage, Swedish
Massage ,and Thai cuisine !
