The Traditional Massage of Thailand is quickly being accepted as
popular menu item in world class spas throughout the globe. It has
appeared in Newsweek, the New York Times, the Oprah show , and the
Martha Stewart show this past year ! It has taken the Western world
3000 years to discover this powerful ancient healing work based on the
Auyurvedic principles of Hatha Yoga. It is a luxurious two to three
hour treatment. It incorporates stretches from Hatha Yoga, compression
and point work from Chinese acupressure, and the serenity and flow from
Thai culture.
This one day taste of Thai Massage will introduce you to this
exceptional form of healing. We will select sequences that are easy to
learn and feel fantastic. This is an introductory “hands on” class,
allowing a glimpse into a very thorough and complex form.
We will finish our day with a sampling of gourmet Thai delicacies. All
are invited . A bodywork background is not required. It is a great way
to meet new friends, experience a powerful form of bodywork, and
celebrate Thai culture !
For Certified Massage Therapists considering our 100 hour training in

Traditional Thai Massage is an act of meditation for both giver and
receiver. It incorporates the best stretches from traditional Hatha
Yoga, the depth of auyurvedic medicine, and Chinese acu-point theory. It
is rooted in and practiced with a sense of Bhuddist spiritual
serenity. It is luxurious, challenging, intimate, and deeply
therapeutic.
You will learn the form of Nuad Bo - Rarn, as it has been practiced in
the Wats (temples) for almost 2500 years. The first 70 hours of the
training will focus on history, theory , technique and form.Treatment
sequences in supine, prone, side-lying , and sitting positions will be
taught and practiced. Emphasis will be placed on learning safe and
effective therapist body mechanics. Specialized segments will be taught
for each major joint as well as visceral organ massage. Twenty hours of
the training will focus on flow, integration, and assessment. There will
be a requirement of 10 hours of documented practices outside of the
classroom. Students will receive certification after performing an
acceptable two hour treatment on one of the instructors.
This beautiful and ancient bodywork form is becoming internationally
popular. Many local spas such as Sonoma Mission Inn, Osmosis Enzyme
Bath and Spa , and the Spa Hotel Healdsburg now offer Thai Massage.
