Hi R and welcome to the group. I am so very sorry to hear about your son. It is an awful thing to go thru. The good news is you CAN get thru it.
It's been more than 5 years for me and when I think about stopping the shots my husband reminds me that I didn't see what I looked like. He and my mother did. It was a terrible experience for them...........not so great for me either but he is right I didn't see what I looked like until much later.
There are quite a few people here with children going thru this. I'm sure they can give you better advice than I can. The board has been pretty quiet lately but I'm sure they will chime in soon.
Meanwhile take David's advice and read the posts there is a wealth of information there and vent all you want. This is one place you'll find that really understands. I don't know what I would have done without it.
Hang in there and get all the information you can.
Debbie

My 2 year old son was stung by one single fire ant on Thursday and went into anaphlactic response. I rushed him to the ER where he received treatment and epi pens, but I am still so shaken and scared. I have spent the last few days crying and terrified of the future. Fire Ants are plentiful where we live and the idea of him spending the rest of his life indoors is insane and irrational. But the image of his limp body is haunting me and something I'm sure I will never forget.
