Hi Liz,
What a nightmare you have had - it does leave you very jittery. That does ease
to an extent - on this site Winter is voted the most popular season as it is
when you can relax :)
I haven't been thru immunothereapy yet - I have had 2 shocks - 3 and 4 years ago
now ..... must say I thought the Epipens would save the day - maybe I have been
too complacement. Tis true - I am an outdoor type.
This site is great as a large number have been thru immunothereapy and we all
understand how frustrating/scary/irritating/limiting it can be and how it can
make you feel resentful of having to be careful when out and about.... and in
the house sometimes :(
Whereabouts are you in the world? I am in the North West of England - members
are from UK, USA and Canada so far.
Let us know how you get on .... and feel free to let off steam .... it is great
to have people that understand.
Take care,
Maggie

i will need the support to go through it. I discovered i was anaphalactic to
wasp and bee stings one week ago when i got stung by a wasp and went into
anaphalaxis 30 minutes later. It was very scary, but luckily I had recognized
the danger of a severe reaction due to hives spreading and managed to get myself
to a medical clinic before I went into shock. Unfortunately for me, and i know
it is just extremely bad luck, but I got stung again on my fist outing, just two
days ago, while on a fair ride with my children. This time I had my brand new
epi-pen and was in an ambulance 20 minutes later when that wore of and I went
into shock. I am incredibly frazzled now. I have closed all windows. I made
myself go to my daughters swimming sports day today and was incredibly jittery,
and left early. I know i will eventually lose the fear because I know that two
stings in a week is really bad luck and that normally people go for years
without being stung. I am very worried about having anaphalaxis during treatment
and so i think i may need the support of this group to get through it. I am a
conservation ecologist and usually am very out-doorsey. I cannot reconcile
myself to a life where I am afraid to go outside. I am grateful to have found
this group.
