Having problems with message search?
I can beat that - we were cleaning out our conservatory/sunroom a week ago and there was a huge queen hornet (Vespa Crabro) on the floor very slow moving but definitely alive!
I also saw our first queen bumblebee of the year yesterday - Bombus Lucorum - feeding off our winter flowering heather. That is at least two weeks earlier than any previous year for an outside observation so one of the disadvantages of global warming (along with many many others of course) is that the stinging insect season may eventually get longer and longer.
