A bumper season!   Message List
Reply | Forward Message #1500 of 2395 |

According to the UK's 'Daily Mail' we, in the UK, are in for a 'bumper crop' of 'creepy crawlies' and that includes wasps.

Apparently the wet May followed by warm/hot June and July has provided the ideal breeding grounds for wasps, mossies, flying ants and crane flies etc. The Mail added that we should see far more wasps than usual in late summer.

Charming! I just hope that the article reflects the Mail's usual tendency for overreacting and exaggeration! Might be some truth in it though.

My son has just enjoyed his first school trip since his sting a year ago (he is now 9) He spent 3 days in the Sussex hills with his class, teachers and epipens! He survived the experience (and so did I!!!) Very hard letting him go off like that with this wasp thing, but I figured that the first aiders at camp are far better qualified to use an epipen that I am. He has to live his life as normally as possible, but he is starting to ask questions about anti-venom therapy.

Stay safe!
