Re: [insectstings] Re: Claratin

Hey Robin,

That's instresting to hear about the Claritin, I'm gonna ask my doctor about why he want's me to take it daily. I thought it was to help with anything in the event I was stung. I do know that now I take it a few hours before my shots and it does help with my breathing. Once I forgot to take it and I took one when I got to the doctors and it did not have time to take effect and my blood pressure dropped and my breathing was difficult.  You mentioned your mom is a believer in Vinagar, I am too. It is also great for weight loss. If you can choke it down. Take Care, Sarah

Hey Sarah

I didn't get to see my doctor, but I did ask his nurse what she
thought about taking claratin daily during the 'bee' season. She
didn't think there would be any added benefit in taking it daily.
Course she told me to talk with the doc, who wasn't around that
morning. I will ask him next time I see him.
In the past, when I was getting swelling and all itchy after each
session, he told me I could take a benadryl when I got home to help
with the itch.
Once, very early in the therapy, he did give me a claratin tablet, as
I felt like 'I was crawling out of my own skin'.

The fire ant shots are starting to hurt now that I'm getting larger
doses.
I started the maintenance shots of wasp in the left arm and the combo
of yellow jacket and hornets in the right arm, the 24th of Feb. The
shots still hurt during the injection, and for a good hour I feel
like a cat in a room full of rocking chairs. The injection sites
didn't swell up any where near what they have been doing in the past.
The injection sites still get red with fever though.

My Mom's a big believer in using vinegar! She  uses apple cider
vinegar, she suggested a compress like you've been using. She also
thinks that sipping a glass of water with a teaspoon each  of vinegar
and honey will help. The vinegar will rid the body of harmful toxins
and the honey will help relax the body. Hey she's my Mom! What else
can I say but, "Yes Mame'".
Take Care
:)
Robin

not hurt so much? I don't think so, it would be nice though. Lately
for me when I leave the doctors office my arms feel like I have 2 ton
weights on them. I have a problem with itching so I have been taking
wash cloths and soaking them with white vinagar and wrapping  plastic
shopping bags to hold and prevent the vingar from dripping around my
arms. It is quit a sight not to mention the smell. But hey it helps
the itching better then the creams. So I don't care if I look like a
clown for a day. I don't know what will stop the pain of the sting
though. Let us know how the doctor goes. Take Care, Sarah
