Welcome! A couple of thoughts here. You don't mention whether or not
you're on any medication for asthma currently.
If you're on medication and it just doesn't seem to be working well,
it's possible you have asthma caused by bacteria. My son had exercise
induced asthma and had no problems playing baseball or competing in
gymnastics, but football and basketball were horrible for him. He was
treated using Dr. Hahn's protocol more than three years ago and has
had no problems at all during football or lacrosse.
It's also possible, as you suspect, that you have allergies. I know
some people have asthma-type symptoms if they don't take medicine for
their allergies, even though they don't have asthma - or they have
exacerbated symptoms if they do have asthma and aren't treating their
allergies. Then again, my allergies seemed to go from severe to mild
once I was treated for asthma, so it's really difficult to pinpoint
exactly what's going on sometimes.
If I were you, I would seek treatment for the allergies first and see
how you feel. I would consider trying Dr. Hahn's protocol, as well.
If you haven't talked to your doctor about this, check out our files
and links and print up the studies and document from Dr. Hahn to other
doctors, and let him or her review them for a week before you follow up.
Just based on what my son went through, I know it's very frustrating
to want to play a sport well, and to be struggling out there gasping
for air despite the medication you took beforehand. I'd definitely
consider being treated.
