Snowgurl, sorry you're going through so much! If you look in the
Links and the Files sections on our groups site, you'll see a lot of
research about the connection between asthma and bacteria. You'll
also find a document by Dr. Hahn that states what the protocol is
(Azithromycin aka Zithromax or Zpak) and his statement that tests are
inconclusive so he doesn't recommend them.
You may have been on Azithromycin many times in the past, but unless
you're on the correct dose, taking it once a week for a total of
twelve weeks following a three day jump start, you wouldn't find
relief because it wouldn't eradicate the bacteria.
I would start with the most open minded doctor you have. If it's your
allergist, start there, if it's your internist, start there. Show him
or her the studies that are posted here. Print them out, drop them
off with Dr. Hahn's sheet and a note saying you would like to be
treated.
You'll also find information on how to respond to any arguments you
might get from your doctor, so be sure you read through that, too.
Does that answer all your questions?
