Hi

I got adult onset asthma when I was 32 I am now 50 years of age. My
asthma has slowly got worse since a bout of pneumonia 7 years ago. I
started to surf the net for advice as my asthma worsened even though I
had stopped smoking. Before I heard about asthma and antibiotics I was
wondering myself if i had a problem with a stubborn infection. I do
have a medical history of getting infections over the years not just
resperatory but our family seems to be prone to infection. Each time I
am on a course of antibiotics I get much better after around 3 days
and continue to improve for the 5 days of the course. Eventually when
I have stopped the course I become worse and worse until I can stand
it no longer and demand antibiotics from my doctor again. Sometimes
they won't give me antibiotics again and give me predisolone which
does not work as well but gives me some relief. When I saw my asthma
story and the links on that site I printed everything off and took it
to my doctor. Who immediately did a spyrometry and said I had COPD as
well and changed my asthma meds. He is totally against the antibiotic
treatment and said that you read all sorts on the internet and that
azythromicine is a very expensive antibiotic. Well that was two weeks
ago now and I am still getting worse. I can hardly walk now and I am
going to visit my doctor again tomorrow as I am so desperate. It is
such a struggle at work and I am constantly exhausted. I have been
thinking of ordering AZYTHROMICINE from a site I have found through
the links on my asthma story as I am so desperate now. OK I may have
COPD but I am sure I could improve my quality of life with the
antibiotics if not, well I have got nothing to loose! My doctor said
that if you have an infection you have a temperature but I have not.
Is there any other way to tell if you have an infection. I live in
England and wondered if this was an English problem that our doctors
will just not accept this infection idea. Has anyone any advice and is
there any other way I can tell if I have an underlying infection that
anyone knows of. Thanks to anyone who can help. Gina
