I too had headaches in the beginning but it went away. Yes, I take it once a

Don't worry about seven follies - in my my last ER, I had six follies, six
embryos, and 4 made to blast! It is always quality over quantity.
Good luck!

Ladies,

I am feeling perfectly fine now but want to share my experience.

I talked with Dr Braverman last night and he said that neupogen should not be
causing the bad side effects I was experiencing and it was probably the
intralipids (taken same day). Or possiblya flu.

He also told me to get back on the neupogen RIGHT AWAY cause stopping it
suddenly can actually cause th1 th2 to have the opposite effect . Surely enough
I was more and more miserable everyday (I stopped two days prior to yesterday)

I felt better right after I toook the shot and am fine today.

Dr b is super smart and knows what he is talking about. He figured all this out
by a two minute conversation!!!

I feel great about having him on board

Hi Savita,

I also have mild Lupus and have done several cycles with Neupogen with zero side
effects. I wonder if you are having a mild flare up that is unrelated? (of
course everyone reacts differently, so it could be the Neupogen but my Rheumy
insists the Neupogen should have zero effect on my other issues)

Hang in there!

Hi Lesa,

I explained the situation in email.  I was having a reaction from intralipids not neupogen.  I hope I did not scare anyone and I myself am
super relieved.

Thanks for all your concern and support.

Thanks Susan! I have bad news today.

Of the 6 eggs, only 4 were mature. Of the 4, only 1 has fertilized so far.

Its quite sad, but then I am 44.75 and should expect that. I have asked dr
zouves if he sees any point in my doing PGD on my solo embryo ... and then
putting it in if viable on Day 5.

I will have to move on next year to donor or adoption I guess. I am open and ok
with both.

Later. take care and thanks all!

Its funny I spent my 30's searching for my one true love, found him at 35 and
married him at 37 (he's annoying but will do) :)

Now I spent my late 30's and 40's searching for my one good egg, after I had
Victor. Victor may have been my one good egg, a natural conception at 40 plus
and I had him at 41.

Now I have only 1 fertilized embryo so far! AARRRGH!

Off to have a nice lunch and relax till I go and pick up my son.

Hi ladies,

I just wanted to pass this on in case it helps anyone. I asked Dr. B's nurse to call in my neupogen to the mail in pharmacy with UHC and they covered it! (I think because it didn't need a code through them)So I just wanted to let others who are with United Health Care know how mine got covered. I think that maybe if I had gone through a regular pharmacy instead of the mail pharmacy it wouldn't have been covered as they would have needed the codes.

Anyway I hope that helps someone!

Does anyone know of any good doctors that can treat endometritis, chronic
inflammation of the uterus (just to clarify, not endometriosis, since I don't
have that). Does Dr. B treat that? What is the treatment? I heard it was
antibiotics, but I don't know how long and which kind. If anyone has any
experience or input, I would appreciate it.

i think 1 mature egg is great at your age. (I don't mean to say "at your age" in a negative way) but i was 38 and had only 2 mature eggs. it only takes one good egg to make a baby so i wish you the best of luck! i married my one true lov at 38 so i understand...haven't had the blessing of a child yet. i'm now 41.

Sorry to hear this - I was thinking you had a great shot. I wouldn't do PGD as
I have heard that there is a large percentage of mosaicism and you may be
throwing away a good embryo.

That's the general line of thinking of Dr. Milki at Stanford too, who has seen
many good embryos thrown away due to PGD false positives, at Stanford.

I am working with Dr. Zouves, he seems to be recommending a Day 3 transfer this
time of this single embryo.

Of course since I have had 4 miscarriages, 2 due to Trisomy 16 and 2 due to no
reason/chemical .. (normal genes, a male for one) I am confused.

I did amnio with my son at 15 weeks and found he was normal. If I do conceive on
this one embryo (by God's grace/some stroke of fantastic luck) ... and then find
out in early feb via amnio that it has Downs or something i will be freaked out.

Last time I did ivf in Jan, I had one embryo with nullisomy X, which we didnt
put in, and 2 which may have had Monosomy 17 (not sure) and one normal male! we
put in the last 3 .. none took.

lets see. Milki seems to prefer for our age to not use what he called the harsh
environment of the lab, but rather do IUI with lots of follistim and then
selectively reduce if there's some defect .. just keep the strongest heartbeat
ones.

Thanks all for your support. We may do a 3 day transfer on Thu if this one
works, or a 5 day transfer on Sat .. if we do pgd, if this survives.

if any older women like me are asking how i got this many follicles? I got my
menarche/first period at 12 ... and then got a period every 31 days or so ..
people with long cycles like me and somewhat polycystic ovaries still have a few
more eggs left when they age .. my fsh is usually 4.2 to 7 though i am so old.

Hi Everyone,

I'm in need of some progesterone advice. I'm currently 12.2 days pregnant after
5 previous losses. It's a multiple pregnancy & at this time I'm still taking 1ml
pio shot a day & 400mg p4 suppository. I'm a Beer patient & they want me to
transition off progesterone starting now. I'm really, really not comfortable
with this. I'm terrified of mc.
I also want to stay on p4 to keep my cervix well. I've had a leep & not sure if
my cervix will be an issue.

Ladies, how long & what dosage progesterone are you on or will be on?

Any Beer patients stay on longer than 12 weeks???

Thanks everyone,

Hi,
I have a sensitive question but am faced with trying to find an answer. Has
anyone suffered a loss of a multiple where the other twin is ok & had any
significant immune flare ups? I have a loss of a triplet & scared if losing
everyone due to an immune flare. Beer center said I can do an ivig, but they
didn't offer any real experience with this. I pay cash for ivig but I want to
protect everything I can...
Anyone have advice???

Also, anyone take or increase steroid or prednisone in this situation. It's very
hard, but I'm really needing to understand how to treat immune issues as my body
absorbs things & hormones are changing. I want to do everything to minimize my
risks of total loss of pregnancy.
If you'd like, you can private message me as I know it's a heavy topic. B
Sorry everyone, just trying to save my other babies.

i'm sorry i'm an idiot. LOL first of all, CONGRATS on your pregnancy!!!!  :)  from everything i've read (and i'm sure you have too) the placenta shld take over and you don't need the prog. but if you need peace of mind, ask if you can stay on it. i've heard most women go off it around that point. good luck and you're at a really good point in your pregnancy!!!

because the #'s were different from what they had on their list. They were going

They still haven't called me. Has anyone else had this kind of problem? Has

I had a partial pregnancy loss( loss of an identical twin set)  and stayed on until 14 weeks. By then i felt fine going off because placenta was def taking over.  I gave birth to a healthy baby boy and had an uneventful pregnancy.  Good luck. I think it's fine to stay on or go off, one thing worth mentioning is boys born after prolonged exposure to progesterone  sometimes have something called hypospadias which is a lower opening on the penis but it's minor and can be easily repaired.  Just something to think about. Good luck!! Feel free to PM me if you would like.

Hey Jennifer,

congrats on your pregnancy! I also believe the placenta should be taking over
and it should be ok if you go off. I know one of the concerns with staying on
the prog support is if you should be carrying a boy the extra prog could
interfere with the testicle development.... don't quote me on this but my RE
told me something like this when i asked....

Ok thanks ladies! Its one embryo . .and another egg they are watching to see if
it fertilizes. I will know tomorrow if we should do a day 3 transfer on Thu am
or Day 5 post PGD transfer on Sat am or if there's anything left. These embies
are fragile!

I do hope that you all have the blessing of a child too, I am so grateful for 3
year old victor and daily thank god and the universe for him. he was worth the
painful losses I had of other embryos/fetuses at 6-7 weeks when their heartbeats
petered out.

I know all you ladies have probably been in the place i am right now.I'm feeling
so down about all of this infertility stuff. I am just so ready to give up. i
want to so i can get my life and sanity back and possibly my bank account but i
feel like i can't. i have done 3 cycles with the Beer Center and 2 were bfn and
this past cycle i"m 9 days past an IUI but i'm pretty sure it's bfn as well. I
feel my period coming. Anyway -i also just consulted with Braverman who wants me
to do HLA testing and i'm having a really difficult time getting the blood lab
to understand what tests i need to get done. it's just all so hard. It's like
you jump through umpteen hoops and finally think you've gotten somewhere only to
fail again. 3 years of failing and how can I find the energy to keep on going?I
probably just need to take a break from all of this but it's hard in the immune
world to take breaks because you don't know for how long your #'s are going to
look good.

Hi Kristen,

I am listening to Tibetan Chakra Meditations and trying to relax. Missing my
kid's spanish and music play class so he can nap and I can relax. :) He's fast
asleep.

What you are feeling is so so normal and make so much sense. Its so tiring to
go through 2nd ary infertility or primary, and how much energy, emotion, money,
time etc it takes. Such a toll on our lives, marriage etc and so much confusion
and so much drama and ups and downs ...

I have been listening to Jewel's song Simple Gifts, which is like a lullaby,

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=amcGIfMu0bw

The words soothe me somehow.

Also I have been listening to Sarah McLachlan's song Ordinary Miracle, to
remember to be grateful for what I have and not be stressed:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VVD61SdC4Xk

I pray that we all get contentment, peace, the wisdom to make the correct
decisions in a confusing IVF/IUI/little understood Repro immunology world ...
and also most of all, love and joy in our lives, in various ways.

When I am mad at the world, or at life, I look at this poem I heard about
in my Unitarian church, by Mary Oliver, even if I don't feel like meditating or
praying .. as the words say ...

http://www.panhala.net/Archive/Morning_Poem.html

Later. Take care, Kristen! Didn't mean to sound all touchy feely and too
Dharma and Greg, or too gushy, but I tell you, this is a hard, boring journey at
times and sometimes I feel like in the story "one String and Paganini", where
each string is breaking. How can one person have so much resilience, strength
and courage? I treat myself to a discount massage/spa for $ 89 or so each month
I do ivf .. to encourage myself. I also get a nice pedicure on sale or a nice
blow drying/hair cut .. lately I got my husband and me living social coupons for
one night in Berkeley for cheap and 2 nights in Carmel for a discount. I look
forward to small treats and big ones when the various "strings" get broken. Not
everyone can afford all this, we had a huge financial setback lately ... but
even picnics, time with friends and family, etc and simple candlelight dinner in
the backyard has cheered my husband and me up each time we get a BFN or other
bad news. Do take some time for yourself, for a play, concert, movie or someone.
I have used a host of good sitters lately .. took me ages to find them, as we
have no family around.

http://visvacomplex.com/One_String_and_Paganini.html

I just wish there was better data/published data on PGD and risks, on IVIG
and risks etc. My hubby looked so tired and grumpy and claimed he was getting
sick at AEB today as we drew blood to test our LAD's. My lads were superb in
April and bad in Sept. AEB said IVIG would make it better. Tomorrow am I have
another IVIG. Am I wasting $ 2835, esp not even knowing if the embie will make
it till tomorrow or thu, given its only one? Who knows? Will my LAD's really
improve? My poor hubby looks so burned out, bored and tired at times. Its all
such a mystery I wish there was more hardcore scientific data to support our
decisions.

Thanks for venting and all the best!

Also re: giving up, I met a lady who's 45 and 16 weeks along with donor eggs,
abso no immune treatments .. her first kid is 4 and just fine (IVF too but
natural). I know several ladies who used donor eggs, some went to the Czech
republic to save money (americans), some did it here.

I am indian and my husband is Caucasian. I have found 3-4 indian donors so far
whom I might consider.

When I did my retrieval yesterday, the young lady in the room was a donor. She
is Asian, smart looking, young etc .. I would have no problem choosing someone
like her, respectable seeming. My husband struck up a conversation with her
"ride" ( a guy she knows) and thats why we found out.

My husband wasnt so keen on donors but nowadays doesnt mind for the future,
given my age and what little luck we are having with my own eggs. I am finding
lovely babies through adoption too, that my friends are doing ... so I am
excited about that too. My son has absolutely no cousins on both sides! So all I
want is for him to have the joy of a healthy sibling at home ...

I was originally pregnant with triplets. I lost 2 early (by 8 weeks) and the 3rd
is doing great. Now at 21 weeks. I did however do 3 rounds of IVIG in those
early weeks. I am not sure if it's needed in your situation or not? If you can
swing it, might be good, even for your state of mind, to get an IVIG. I think
your twins will be just fine, and I am rooting for you!!

So glad you got things figured out!
I never had any side effects whatsoever from the Neupogen (and since we take
such a small dose compared to post-cancer and other patients, I'm sure our risk
of s/e is extremely minimal anyway). But then again, I never had s/e from
intralipids either. But anyway, so glad you got it worked out and that Dr. B was
