Hi Gabbi,
It's great to see you back! Yes, it's difficult isn't it?
So have you done the PGD cycle? How did it go?
So funny you should mention Dr Sher....I have just this minute got off the SIRM
website. Wow, we are really on the same wavelength. I am seriously considering
going there instead. Not just for the testing, but to actually cycle there. That
is great you got such detailed info from Dr Sher. I don't think you are being
precious at all. It is a huge decision to be an international patient. Is the
testing process the same as at AEBC --- ship blood to the US for Sher's
recommended tests?
I got my records from IVFA no drama. Except they left out some (our whole IUI).
I had previously seen SIVF for some testing before finding Dr S. I have been in
an argument with them for four weeks trying to get my lab reports. (Rolls eyes,
tears out hair!!). I finally heard from the last week. They said, yes, we have
them, but we won't release them to you until you have a consult with Dr X, as we
need to explain the results!! WTF??? I actually had an appointment with that
doctor who gave me what I thought was inappropriate advice at that time, and
didn't go back. Now they say there are no notes in the file and therefore I
could not have had an appointment! It's completely ludicrous. I will be writing
them a letter tomorrow stating that pursuant to the Health Records and Privacy
Act, they have to comply with my written request.
Sorry for my rant! I am at my absolute wits end - my current cycle just ended in
yet another chemical pregnancy.
All the best to you, and please keep us posted on your progress.

Good luck to you and your wife, I can't recommend Dr Sacks enough. At the very
least, it wouldn't hurt to make an appointment.

> Winter, sorry I haven't been around for a while to update you. In the end, I
decided to proceed with my PGD cycle without having the blood tests done. It was
all so daunting and at the time, I just couldn't get my head around it. I also
figure PGD should give me some information to move forward with - ie either all
embryos are bad, or I have some normal ones but still have an unsuccessful
cycle, at which point the b/ts are definitely my next move.

clinic. I had previously contacted Dr Sher's clinic and not only did Dr Sher
spend 45 minutes on the phone with me reviewing my medical records & history, he
also sent me a very detailed report of his thoughts as to possible diagnosis and
treatment (all for free). I then decided that Dr Beer's clinic might be the
better option since it specialised in immune issues. I do not mind having to pay
$125 to have my medical records looked at, but I do resent that I have not
spoken to a Dr nor received anything other than an emailed list of blood tests
to have. To my mind, how can you even be sure that a Dr has actually looked at
your records??! I know I sound very precious, but at the stage I'm at with so
many IVF cycles under my belt, I think its not too much to ask to feel like
you're being treated at a more personal level.

the same questions as you, and another Australian on here, Gabbi (who has done
me a wonderful service) who also sees Dr Sacks said that once she gets the test
results from AEBC if anything turns up he would formulate a plan for her. This
is very exciting, as I wasn't sure Dr S would be on board!

of my medical records so that I can send them to AEBC. Gabbi has done this and
also had her file reviewed and got a list of tests. Not sure where she is up to
after that? It is very overwhelming to even think of getting blood shipped to
the USA.

Bankstown. His details are in the Files section of this website. If we needed
local pathology referrals for the tests recommended by AEBC then I was going to
seek an appointment with him for that. My understanding is that Dr M is not an
IVF doctor (please someone correct me if I am wrong) but that he will evaluate
your tests and organise a treatment plan for you, that your RE can work with.

supportive of Dr Beers Immunology treatments. My wife has been diagnosed as
having high CD56 killer cells and we were just about to do a frozen round with
pregnosone and clexane (excuse the spellings, I think one of them is now called
lovenox or something?). This round was with IVF sydney (we live in Sydney). My
wifes endometrial lining never rose above 6mm, it was more like 5.5mm. So we
decided not to continue with the 5 day old hatching blastocyst transfer, on the
basis that we felt the lining was too thin. This would have been our 8th IVF
attempt.

a little bit more open to Dr Beers treatments. We are also thinking about
becoming a 'remote' patient of Dr Beer's treatment centre in the USA, but we
want to know first if anybody else has done this in Australia, and if so, did
they find an agreeable doctor/clinic?
