From what I can tell, my NK numbers seem to imply that IVIg might not
help lower my NKs. Jane if you are reading, can you please tell me if I
am interpreting correctly. The first IgG number should be 1/2 of the
50:1, right? So the 14.4 should be around 7.5 if IVIg would be
effective for me, yes?
50:1 15.0
25:1 11.3
12.5: 1 8.4
IgG Conc 12.5 50:1 14.4
IgG Conc 12.5 25:1 11.8
IgG Conc 6.25 50:1 9.5
IgG Conc 6.25 25:1 8.3
I am seeing Zouves for my IVF and I'll be starting my injectibles next
Friday. Dr. Zouves has seen my NK assay and he thinks I should do IVIg
(not Humira - I've asked). He also wants me to take Prednisolone, not
Dex... I get the distinct feeling he doesn't like the fact that I'm
reading a lot of DB's immunology papers and coming up with lots of
questions on my own. :-)
So her is my situation: My OB/GYN won't send in a pre-auth for my IVIg
even though she agreed to send in the lab forms for the NK and APA
assays. (Insurance would cover it this way, but not directly thru
Zouves). I don't think that Health Net would agree to pay for IVIg if
Dr. Zouves asked for a preauth because they will ask him what his
specialty is, and when they put down "infertility" it will get nixed.
So...does anyone know an immunologist or OB/GYN in the Bay Area (Santa
Clara County) that might be more willing to look at my NKs and assist
me with a preauthorization form for the IVIg? Dr. Trobough is
contracted with HealthNet and I've recently seen him mentioned in the
same sentance as DB. I am hoping he might be willing to help me out
here.
Does anyone know what Dr. Trobough's thoughts are on IVIg and RI in
general?
I thought I'd also give Chris a call at DB's and see if she could give
me any ideas for how to get this done.
Thanks everyone,
Linda
