I am new to the group. I have a 6 month old son who has an ileostomy.
I am having the hardest time with his stoma. I am using convatec two
piece system with eakin seals underneath. His stoma is a little less
than 1 inch but I cut the seal to 1 inch and I pull at the edges of
the eakin seal until it appears to be 1 inch. I hold it in my hands a
bit to warm it up and then I beg a child that cannot speak to PLEASE
NOT POOP so it will be dry so the wafer will stick. I have gotten
pretty good at getting it dry so that the thing will stick but now my
biggest problem is the damn thing bleeds it's like the wafer bumps the
stoma and pisses it off. I tried cutting the wafer to have a much
bigger hole than he needs and that only tore the skin around the stoma
up. Please someone tell me what the hell I am doing wrong. My poor boy
is having to have his whole pouch system changed 2-3 times a day.

Thanks in advance!
Portia
